[glow=red,2,300]Warning![/glow]
This post contains spoilers. If you don't wanna know then don't read. If you read the post anyway, then it's your own damn fault, I warned you.
I saw Harry Potter and I didn't like it. It could have been a million times better then it was. There were so many things that were wrong, missing or just plain crap with the movie, which I feel that I have to inform everyone about. I just wouldn't be me if I didn't complain.
The Missing Weasleys: There was no hide or set of flaming red locks of Bill, Charlie or Percy within this movie. I was looking forward to the introduction of the two older Weasleys. I can't believe they cut out Percy though, his character was pretty important in the book. Oh and now that I think of it, there was no Mrs. Weasley either. Where have they all gone?!
No Dursleys: More missing family members as there were no Dursleys in the movie either, meaning there was no Privet Drive. Harry just woke up at the Burrow.
House Elves: The one thing I was looking forward to see was the army of house elves working down in the Hogwarts kitchen. It just wasn't there. Speaking of house elves, they missed out two of the most vital ones in the book, both Dobby and Winky. Due to no house elves being present also meant the founding of S.P.E.W will probably be put on hold till the next movie.
Hair: Here I was thinking that Hagrid and Dumbledore were the most hairiest of the lot but it seems as though the young Weasley boys and Harry want to follow in their footsteps, especially with the styles they were donning.
Fleur Delacour: Pretty? Yes. Stunning and spellbinding? Not really.
Voldemort: Boy was I scared, I nearly wet my pants when I saw him (sarcasm there folks).
Acting: Crap. In the case of Emma Watson (Hermione), it was her overacting that I had a problem with.
Part Giants: They cut out the whole Madame Maxime getting pissy at Hagrid for having the nerve to call her part giantess (instead of extremely tall and manly looking).
Stadium: The stadium for the Quidditch World Cup looked mighty impressivefrom the outside. When you got a closer look it was just scaffolding and a grass pitch.
Mascots: No bitch fight between the leprechauns and the veela. No leprechauns or veela period.
Dumbledore: Urgh. I liked the old Dumbledore, he had this presence when he appeared on the screen. The new one would make a better Gandalf then Dumbledore. What grated on my nerves besides his acting ability was the way he spoke. Was I the only one who noticed how he sounded a bit American at times?
Barty Crouch Junior: My memory may be a little foggy as I haven't read Goblet of Fire in ages but I'm pretty sure that he isn't supposed to be at the Riddle House when Voldemort kills that Frank dude. There also wasn't that much detail in the history of the Crouch family.
Comrades: Just where were Sirius and Lupin? Actually, not sure if Lupin is supposed to be in the book but I know there is supposed to be more of Sirius. All we got was a face in fire.
Safety: Was it me or were the spectators of the first task of the Tri-Wizard Tournament ridiculously close to the dragon?
Hogsmeade: No adventures here. Not a single one.
Leg: I'm sure that Moody's leg was supposed to be made out of wood, I think they just made it metal because it looked cooler.
Jokers: No antics from Fred and George except when they try and cross the age line. You didn't even see when Harry gives them his winnings for the joke shop.
Rita Skeeter: No mention of her dirty little secret and of Hermione finding out about it.
Quidditch: Well, you see people flying on brooms but there is no Quidditch being played whatsoever in the movie.
Timing: Even though this movie was something along the lines of two and a half hours long, it went by too quickly. There was no real flow to it. It was just one scene to the next. They cut out the first two hundred pages of the book and still had a hard time cramming things in.
Violence: Bloody hell, what was up with all the man handling of Harry? You had Dumbledore rough him up a bit and then Snape slapping Ron and Harry around.
Parvati: OK, so this a personal dislike. She could have been dressed in something so much nicer. That was one of the more simple Indian dresses and the colours! Gah. Why couldn't she have gotten something nice to wear like Hermione and Cho? You can get outfits that are a million times better then the one she was wearing down in Southall for under a hundred quid.
Wow, that's quite a list I've got there and I'm almost certain I'm leaving things out. Anyway, now that I've mentioned most of things wrong/missing/crap about the movie I can mention things that I did like.
Ron: I have a favourite Ron moment in each film. In the Goblet of Fire my favourite Ron moment is when Hermione wakes him up. Very cute.
SFX: I thought that the special effects in this movie were superb! The three tasks were done very well.
Krum: Didn't say much but I thought he was kinda cute. I loved his squealing fan club.
Cho: I don't actually like Cho in the books but she made me laugh in the movie. Only for the fact that I was expecting a London accent or something and was presented with an accent I didn't expect. I giggled every time she spoke. I did like the accent though I couldn't quite place it. It did feel weird though, I just always imagined a London accent or something.
Well, I think that's all from me. I'm pretty sure I've gone on about Harry Potter long enough. Reading back, I think it's actually quite sad just how much I have written about Harry Potter.
Note: The above was copied from a post I made about the movie on my blog, way back in November.
