Before you get exited and think they're actually making one, they're not. But I was just thinking it would be deadly if there was a show about Peter Parker after he got bit by the spider but before he took the Spider-Man identity. Kinda like Smallville. It might have to ignore some things in the comic continiuity but it would still be cool. What do you think?

meh sounds ok but they'd have to ruin alot of the comic continuity like have him fight doc ock before he even became spidey.

Ruin is such a harsh word. More like change. Move it around a bit. I mean I'm pretty sure Smallville must do it.

o yeah i know they do it. but i'm not much of a DC person so it doesn't affect me. i'm sure there are die hard DC fans that are going, "WTF How can Green Arrow be a superhero before Superman?" or "How can Supergirl fly but not Clark?".

I think the difference is that Spider-Man gained his powers, whereas Superman always had them from birth. And that's why you can't make the tv show. It wouldn't work with Spider-Man. They would need to start where Parker gets his powers, and maybe work on his early days as Spider-Man, whereas you can go as far as his birth with Superman. Spider-Man is one of those characters that if you mess with the story too much, it doesn't work. Peter needs to have an uneasy childhood, then gain power, and understand the responsibilities that come from it. You really can't make him have some special childhood adventures without critically changing the story.
The closest things that Marvel has would be the mutants. Make New York City your star, add Cyclops, Iceman and others, teenagers who are just figuring out their powers. No Professor X, no secluded mansion, they need to figure everything out themselves, while living in the city, etc.
