So, what are your thoughts on the upcoming one-shot? It's got Sentry in it. And a certain beacon of hope.
SPOILERS!
There is a big possibility that the one returning is the one and only, Captain Marvel. No, not Genis, not Phyla, not Monica Rambeau, but the big cheese himself, Mar-Vell. Another classic Marvel death down the toilet.

Well, you know they can't keep people dead...it's against their religion, lol.

I know. And if it's him, I'm excited to see him back. But.... It's freaking Mar-Vell. He's like the only one in Marvel Universe who should stay dead. Others with the same claim have been Bucky and Uncle Ben. There was never proof of Bucky's death, and Uncle Ben seems to pop in everyone's thoughts or dreams from time to time, but Mar-Vell, he died of cancer. You erase that, and what's left? Bucky fell when the rocket exploded, Ben was shot. So maybe the explosion didn't get Bucky, maybe the shooter missed Ben.... But Mar-Vell died of cancer, which is pretty much the terminal natural reason to die.
But if it's him, there is a nice sense of reason. Mar-Vell got cancer from an explosion caused by Nitro. Now he comes back in the aftermath of something caused by Nitro.
Let's just hope they make credit with him. Starlin's "Death" was avery defining moment in MU history. It's tough to go against that.

Yeah, if they can find a good way to explain how in the world he came back, then I wouldn't really have a problem with it. But no more of that alternate dimension crap...I had enough of that when they brought back Uncle Ben.

House of M wasn't an alternate dimension per se, but I get your drift. And apparently the one-shot is about Sentry, who's afraid that some day the Void will return, so he wants this certain individual to be there to stop him, if the event occurs.

Well, the Return came, and did surprisingly well in my little world of comics.
SPOILERS (as if you didn't know)
The first part of the comic was about, who else but the returnee, Captain Marvel. Yes, Mar-Vell is back, but no, he's not resurrected. So, what else could be the explanation? Timetravel, that is correct. Apparently Mar-Vell was drifting in the negative zone, when a chronal rift appeared in front of him, and a moment later he was in front of Sentry, who seemed oh so older than Mar-Vell had last seen him. Sentry, Iron Man and Reed end up deciding that it's best if he stays in the "Fantasy Island" for now, and act as the warden. And now, as the whole place is ready to explode, it's time for Captain Marvel to make first impressions to the world, for the second time.
Want to now more about Captain Marvel? Captain Marvel #1 coming to stores near you.
The second story: Sentry fighting against the Absorbing Man, who is slowly gaining more and more of Sentry's powers. But how does a man who can't handle the energy of a single planet, handle the energies from a million exploding suns? The answer: He doesn't. And so, our dear Mr Creel evaporates into thin our, only leaving behind his wrecking ball, and a silent promise to return someday.

It's a shame that I haven't read most of Captain Marvel's original comics, because I'm wondering the exact time when Cap actually did his current timestream jump. We know it happens before his exposure to the nerve toxin when he's fighting Nitro. But other than that, it's rather open. And we don't know how much time he actually has before he's forced to return to his own time. That's a lot of questions.

Well, at least they didn't bring him back indefinately...although they will never be able to re-create such a masterful death.
